Arne Engels has his sights set on a move away from Celtic amid interest from multiple Premier League clubs, sources have told Football Insider.

The 22-year-old has attracted interest from across Europe thanks to his performances over the last couple of seasons, and could now be tempted to push for a move away.

Celtic turned down a £25million offer during the January transfer window, but are expected to be more open to offers this summer, placing interested clubs on alert.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Engels has attacted interest from Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace and Fulham this summer.

The opportunity to move to the Premier League, with the prestige and financial boost that comes along with that move, is believed to be enticing for the midfielder.

Should any of the three English clubs come in with an offer, Celtic may find it hard to persuade him to stay, and a move could be on the cards in the coming weeks.

Will Arne Engels leave Celtic this summer?

Football Insider revealed on 19 June that Celtic will entertain offers for Engels this summer despite blocking his exit during the January transfer window.

While the late mid-season bid gave the club no time to bring in a replacement, there is a feeling the summer window will allow the chance for him to move on.

That has placed a number of interested clubs, including Forest, Palace and Fulham, on high alert, while Engels is now believed to be keen to make the move to England.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Engels himself would be interested in the move away if a move to the Premier League or another top European league came calling.

"I'm sure there'll be other clubs in the Premier League who will be looking at him. There's been obviously Forest who are long-term admirers and I'm sure they have continued to keep tabs on him.

"Crystal Palace and Fulham have also been considering moves for him this summer, and could look to lure him to English football.

"So look, I don't think Celtic are going to be short of interest in Arne Engels this summer, and it appears he would be interested in making a move if the opportunity arose."

Could Premier League clubs make a move for Engels?

Interest in Engels has been high over the last 12 months, with clubs across Europe, not just in the Premier League, keeping a close eye on his situation at Celtic.

Nottingham Forest formalised their interest with multiple offers in the mid-season window, while some reports have suggested Fulham have already made contact this summer.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 21 June that Crystal Palace are plotting a move to sign Engels as they aim to bolster their squad following Pierre Sage's appointment.

The Eagles are preparing to compete in the Europa League next season, following last season's Conference League victory, and that may give them the edge over their rivals.

Sage's side are looking to bolster their midfield in the transfer market amid ongoing doubts about Adam Wharton's future and a lack of depth despite Daichi Kamada's contract extension.
