Celtic fans fume as Elias Filet transfer update drops - 'It's a gamble'
Celtic are on the hunt to sign Elias Filet this summer, who had little trouble finding the back of the net this season, but this news does not please many Celtic fans.
The FC Aarau striker netted 20 goals in the Swiss Challenge League, and the Hoops have since had a video conference with the player’s agent over a potential move.
Celtic are keen on reaching a contractual agreement with the 24-year-old before they begin negotiations over a potential deal with the Swiss side.
Filet is the latest striker linked with a move to Parkhead this summer, with reports suggesting that the Hoops have accelerated their pursuit.
Despite the achievements of the attacker this season, many of the Celtic Park faithful are unimpressed by the interest.
Multiple supporters have already written off Filet, believing that the target is solely the club looking to bring in a cheap option.
Celtic fans unimpressed with Elias Filet rumours
In the build-up to the summer transfer window, Celtic have been linked to multiple top attackers.
Kasper Hogh is perhaps the most exciting name rumoured, with the Bodo/Glimt striker netting five Champions League goals in five successive matches this season.
Now, with Celtic seemingly going from Hogh, who was one of the most impressive attackers in Europe this campaign, to Filet, who didn’t even win the golden boot in the Swiss Challenge League, fans are not impressed.
As a result, many took to X to express their anger at the latest transfer rumour reported by Sky Sports on 10 June.
Which other strikers are Celtic linked with?
Football Insider exclusively revealed that Celtic are also chasing Barney Stewart this summer transfer window.
The Bhoys are working to try to add to their attacking options ahead of next season, and it is understood that the 22-year-old is one option who will be "in the frame" for them.
The youngster netted eight goals in 14 matches in the Scottish Premiership this season, including five in his final five matches.
Stewart is attracting interest from other Scottish clubs at the moment, while sources have indicated that there are also a number of English clubs that could be willing to make a move for him.
However, it remains to be seen if Celtic will make a move for Stewart over the coming months.
