Celtic have been linked with a move for rising star Bobby Clark, who once heavily impressed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.

Red Bull Salzburg are reportedly keen to offload the midfielder this summer for a price-cut fee, with the Hoops one of the reported parties aiming to complete a permanent swoop for the 21-year-old.

Clark had impressed at Derby County this season on loan as the Rams narrowly missed out on a playoff spot, which has now reportedly attracted even more interest in the youngster.

Before his move to Austria, Clark was at Liverpool, making a handful of appearances for the club, while also earning praise from Klopp for his display against Sparta Prague in 2024.

Now, Celtic are looking to harness this ability as Martin O’Neill faces a rebuild of his midfield this summer transfer window.

Numerous big stars are linked away from the Hoops despite their Scottish Premiership title victory, which could allow Clark to be part of a new-look Hoops side.

Jurgen Klopp: Bobby Clark was incredible vs Sparta Prague

Despite being unable to break into the first team at Sparta Prague, it is clear that Clark is a talent.

This was on show all the way back at Liverpool when Klopp trusted the midfielder to perform in the Europa League when the squad suffered an injury crisis.

Against the Czech side, Clark scored the Reds’ second goal as they won 6-1 at Anfield.

Speaking on the performance on 14 March 2024, Klopp told TNT Sports via Sports Mole: “He played incredibly. It was his first goal, but he won the ball back after another one.”

This will delight Celtic fans, as if Klopp can see that there is a player in Clark, then it is clear that he can become a big star at Parkhead under the right mentorship.

On top of this, the fact that he can perform in Europe is an excellent sign going into the new campaign.

Therefore, it is of little surprise that The Derby Telegraph on 9 June has now confirmed at least half-a-dozen clubs keen on the 21-year-old, including the Rams.

Who else is chasing Clark?

Football Insider exclusively revealed that Rangers are also interested in Clark this summer.

The Gers are reportedly ready to step up their pursuit of the midfielder in hopes of winning his signature.

Rangers have already been busy this transfer window and confirmed the signing of Lawrence Shankland last month.

However, it remains to be seen if they are able to convince Clark to move to Ibrox, given the level of interest currently shown in him.
