'Humiliating' - Celtic fans erupt after Camilo Duran update reported

Celtic fans are furious after it was revealed that their £1.7million bid for Qarabag striker Camilo Duran was rejected.

The Azerbaijani club want around £2m-£2.5m for the striker, who was a prolific scorer in the Champions League last season.

Celtic are in need of striker and the 24-year-old could become their first signing of the summer.

However, with the Hoops haggling over a measly £300,000, supporters are furious with the board.

The Celtic hierarchy has been accused of penny pinching in many of the club’s recent windows.

Now, the Celtic Park faithful believe that the club is risking losing out on the signing over a small fee.

Celtic have been desperate for signings all summer, and are the only team in the Scottish Premiership not to bring in a single player since the transfer window opened.

Supporters are desperate to see someone come through the door, and the potential arrival of Duran has excited a portion of the fanbase.

The attacker was excellent last season and netted 15 goals in all competitions, with five of these coming in the Champions League.

However, after Offside Plus reported that Celtic’s bid was rejected, fans have turned on the board once more.

Many went to X to vent their anger, as they called the board “pathetic” for haggling over such a small fee, which opens up the possibility of the deal potentially being hijacked over the coming weeks.

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Celtic are plotting a move for Tottenham Hotspur’s Alfie Devine this summer transfer window.

The 21-year-old spent the 2025-26 campaign on loan to Preston North End, but the Championship club is now unlikely to make this move a permanent one after the option to buy clause expired.

As a result, Celtic are prepared to step up their interest, with Tottenham’s recent transfer activity potentially opening the door to a move.

The Hoops watched the midfielder multiple times last season as he impressed at Preston.
