Sources: Fares Ghedjemis favourites named as Celtic and Rangers battle for deal
The pair of Old Firm rivals are currently battling it out to sign the Algeria international, but it is understood that Rangers are lagging behind in their pursuit.
Celtic have had their eyes on the 23-year-old throughout the last 12 months, and recently saw an offer for him rejected by Frosinone.
However, it is expected that it will be “difficult” for them to get their pursuit over the line, with a series of Serie A clubs also keen to keep the wideman in Italy.
Ghedjemis netted 15 goals to help Frosinone to promotion from Serie B last term, and they are desperate to keep hold of him for their return to the top flight.
All possibilities remain open in terms of the forward’s future at the moment, but it is Celtic who are most likely to be able to tempt him to Scotland.

Celtic’s interest in Ghedjemis has been sustained across the last few transfer windows, but they are now trying to sign him when his stock is at its highest.
He ended the 2025-26 campaign as the third-highest scorer in Serie B, and his record in front of goal has catapulted him onto the radar of several clubs in the Italian top flight.
Celtic haven’t hidden their interest in the youngster, but are also under no illusions that it will be an expensive deal for them to do.
Recent reports have suggested that the Bhoys would need a fee of around the £10million mark in order to tempt Frosinone into a sale.
There is then a strong possibility that Ghedjemis will command a significant wage, given the level of interest that is building in him ahead.
Celtic have endured a difficult summer so far in the transfer market, but they are hoping to make a late statement by splashing the cash to bring in Ghedjemis.
