Sam Johnstone will be the last of Martin O'Neill's worries after Celtic fell to defeat in the Europa League against Celta Vigo.

The manager made just one change from the 7-1 win over Hearts at the weekend, and that was Johnstone for Viljami Sinisalo between the sticks.

It would have been very difficult to drop anyone on Thursday, 22 October, but after full-time, it was evident that not everyone was up to the right standard.

Mika Baur gave the Hoops a well-earned lead at Celtic Park, only for Javi Rodriguez to net a second-half brace, his goals coming just three minutes apart.

Johnstone will feel disappointed to have only parried the first goal into the roof of the net, and the goalkeeper wouldn't have wanted to be beaten from such long-range on the second goal.

O'Neill's side battled right until the very end, but once again in Europe, it ended in defeat, leaving Celtic one spot above the bottom of the table.

Dane Murray a cause for concern vs Celta Vigo

Changing goalkeepers is unlikely to have made a massive difference, though. No, there were players all over the pitch who struggled.

And one player especially who many believe isn't good enough to be starting for Celtic in Europe is 23-year-old Dane Murray.

In 90 minutes, the centre-half made zero tackles, was dribbled past once, won zero per cent of his ground duels, and committed a foul [FotMob].

He also lost possession four times in his 68-touch display at Parkhead [Sofascore], and fans will be wondering why he was thrown into the lineup.

Several others could be slammed for their performances, and O'Neill will be expected to make changes when facing Hibernian on Sunday, 25 October.

Who else should be axed vs Hibernian?

Murray will not be the only player catching strays after the game, nor will goalkeeper Johnstone, who parried one shot into the roof of his own net.

Colby Donovan showed once again that he's got plenty of maturing to do if he is to become a regular at Parkhead.

Supporters have been waiting for Haissem Hassan to explode on the right flank, but with just two assists in 13 games, they still need to be patient.

Kasper Hogh would be hoping to get a start at the weekend, but after failing to make a statement against Celta Vigo, he might be disappointed.
