Chelsea fans have taken to social media to urge the club to recall Djordje Petrovic after Robert Sanchez's performance in their 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday (October 20).

Sanchez, 26, was lucky not to have given away a penalty just head of half-time after he took Curtis Jones out with the score at 1-0.

The Spaniard's performances have been inconsistent this season. While he arguably won the game for Enzo Maresca's side against Bournemouth, he made two costly errors that led to goals in their 4-2 win over Brighton just two games later.

Still, Sanchez is Maresca's undeniable first-choice between the sticks, playing every minute of their Premier League campaign so far.

Chelsea fans unhappy with Robert Sanchez after Djordje Petrovic loan

After numerous high-profile mistakes, Sanchez lost his place to Petrovic, 25, under former manager Mauricio Pochettino last season.

Once the Argentine was sacked, Petrovic was loaned out to fellow BlueCo club Strasbourg, with Maresca unimpressed by his ability to play out from the back.

Now Chelsea fans are starting to lament the decision, taking to X, formally known as Twitter, to urge the club to bring the Serbian back.

If we are to become any serious institution, Robert Sanchez shouldn't even make the match day squad as a 3rd choice keeper. Worst player in the PL this season I think

Chelsea bought Brighton 3rd goalkeeper(Sanchez) and made him no. 1. They should give Jorgensen more playing time or bring back Petrovic. This is why Petrovic benched Sanchez last season. His(Sanchez)decision is very poor and the worst is he is not improving.
