Alan Hutton has claimed Chelsea need to sell either Kepa Arrizabalaga or Edouard Mendy if they bring in another goalkeeper.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Tottenham and Aston Villa defender said a new goalkeeper is not a top priority for Graham Potter's side.

Potter's side have shortlisted the shot-stopper as they look to recruit a top-class goalkeeper in the summer and believe he is at the level of Man United number one David de Gea.

Raya's current contract runs until 2024 and is set to be the subject of big transfer interest in the summer and the Bees are hopeful of securing a £40m fee if he leaves.

Chelsea's current goalkeeping options are both contracted at Stamford Bridge until 2025.

When asked if the Blues need a new goalkeeper given the strength of their current options, Hutton told Football Insider: "Only if they get rid of one.

"They have spent a lot of money on goalkeepers when you look at Kepa and Mendy. They have had their problems over the years that they have been there.

"It is a toss up at the moment in time if you were to ask Chelsea fans who their number one is at this moment.

"To bring somebody in for a big transfer fee on big wages you need to get one of those two off the books. I think Potter might be ok at the moment in time moving forward with the goalkeepers that he has."
