Chelsea fans are insisting Enzo Maresca "must be sacked" following their performance in the Premier League clash v Ipswich at Stamford Bridge.

Maresca's side rescued a 2-2 draw at home after two first-half goals from Julio Enciso and Ben Johnson sent them into half-time 2-0 down.

The second half saw and Axel Tuanzebe own-goal pull one back shortly after the break, before Jadon Sancho's 79th-minute strike earned the Blues a hard-fought point.

As a result, Chelsea have now won just three of their last eight Premier League games and are in danger of missing out on qualification for the Champions League.

Failure to win against Ipswich, following a win for Man City against Crystal Palace, means the Blues have now dropped to fifth place in the league.

Large sections of the home crowd have voiced their frustrations towards the manager both for his results and style of play - as many insisted he should be sacked "tonight".

Chelsea make Enzo Maresca sack decision

Football Insider revealed on 11 April that Chelsea are unlikely to sack Maresca at the end of the season despite growing speculation about his future.

The board are aiming to establish some stability after a turbulent couple of years in West London, and are instead set to back him in the transfer window.

Despite a dip in form placing them in a battle for Champions League qualification, the Blues’ ownership are believed to be happy with his management.

However, former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Maresca is facing sack pressure at Chelsea following a poor run of form in January and February.

Following a defeat to Ipswich, their Europa Conference League progress is now being highlighted as crucial to their future success.

Fans want Enzo Maresca sacked after Ipswich performance

This is not the first time Chelsea fans have called for Maresca’s dismissal this season, as they are beginning to grow frustrated with the team's performances.

Regardless of the result of the Ipswich clash, large sections of the Stamford Bridge crowd have started to lose patience with the style of play.

Taking to social media during the "disaster" performance, fans have labelled Maresca "embarrassing" and "terrible" as they called for him to lose his job "tonight".
