Chelsea fans have taken to social media to urge wonderkid Josh Acheampong to sign a new contract after Reece James picked up another injury.
The 24-year-old Chelsea captain is out of their upcoming Premier League clash with Leicester on Saturday (November 23) after sustaining another hamstring injury.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, manager Enzo Maresca said, “Unfortunately Reece felt something small and we don’t want to take a risk for this game”.
Acheampong, 18, is highly regarded at Cobham but has been frozen out of both the club's first-team and youth set-up while talks over a new contract rumble on.

It's understood that talks over a new deal have stalled due to a lack of a clear pathway into the first team, something that winger Rio Ngumoha, 16, said before leaving in the summer.
Chelsea fans disagree, however, taking to X, formally known as Twitter, to suggest the youngster has a serious opportunity at the club.
