Chelsea: Keith Wyness reveals sources are ‘very unhappy’ over BlueCo’s ownership
Chelsea fans and insiders are not happy about the direction of the club under BlueCo, according to Keith Wyness.
The former Everton chief executive, speaking to Football Insider, revealed he has been speaking to his sources at the club amid increasing fan unrest.
Strasbourg fans joined Chelsea supporters in protesting against BlueCo before the Blues lost 1-0 to Manchester United, before manager Liam Rosenior was sacked at Stamford Bridge just days later.
Rosenior had only been in charge of Chelsea for 107 days, and leaves BlueCo searching for their sixth manager since they took over the club in 2022.
Chelsea also have mounting financial problems off the pitch under the American consortium, which could make it tricky if they wished to sell the club.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – is backing Rosenior to bounce back in management despite his difficult tenure in west London.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness states that people inside Chelsea want a takeover of the club to happen as they’re “very unhappy” under BlueCo.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “It just gives you more questions about the ownership than it does about Liam Rosenior.
“He will have a future. At the right place, he will come into the game again and do very well. Chelsea have got it wrong so many times now. There are real question marks about not only the finances where they’re supposed to be experts, but certainly in their football decisions.
“The fans are really unhappy. I’ve been speaking to a number of my Chelsea sources, and they are very unhappy right now, and they’re starting to wish that there could be another buyer coming in, but I don’t see that at all given the financial structure.”
Chelsea coach rules himself out of vacant managerial position
Calum McFarlane, who previously had a spell in charge after Enzo Maresca left the club in January, will manage Chelsea until the end of the season.
Despite leading the Blues to an FA Cup final with victory over Leeds last time out, sources have told Football Insider that McFarlane will not make himself available for the Chelsea job on a full-time basis.
The 40-year-old is planning on reverting back to his role as Chelsea’s under-21 coach, whilst the club look for a proven Premier League manager to take charge.
Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola is a leading candidate to be Chelsea boss next season, with the 43-year-old having been widely praised for his time with the Cherries.
