According to Fabrizio Romano (5 June), the attacking midfielder has been waiting for a new contract proposal for months.

The London club is said to be planning on opening talks soon with Mount, who is seen as a key part of their plans.

According to The Sun (6 June), Man United manager Erik ten Hag keen on the England international.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: "It seems inconceivable, a huge surprise, that he will play for anyone but Chelsea.

"He looks to me like a one-club man after coming through the ranks there and having the impact that he has.

"At club and international level he has a major role. I don't believe his contract will be a problem.

Chelsea

"There has been a lot of uncertainty at Chelsea. A lot of things have been put on the back burner. But now everything has been put straight players contracts will be sorted.

"I cannot see Mason Mount's contract being a problem. It is not an urgent priority right now given that he has two years left. When the time comes it will get sorted."
