Chelsea are unwilling to let Carney Chukwuemeka leave on loan and will only accept a permanent offer for the youngster, sources have told Football Insider.

According to The Sun, West Ham were interested in bringing the 20-year-old to East London on loan before they signed Carlos Soler from PSG.

Chukwuemeka had been a member of Chelsea's 'bomb squad' but has since been reinstated into the first-team under new manager Enzo Maresca.

Sources have told Football Insider that the Blues are focused on selling Chukwuemeka permanently and will reject any loan offers.

The central midfielder had been linked with a move to Galatasaray but with the Turkish transfer window now closed, Chukwuemeka is set to remain at Chelsea until January at least.

Carney Chukwuemeka will only leave Chelsea permanently

Chukwuemeka has only played 27 games for Chelsea since making the £20million move from Aston Villa in 2022, totaling 616 minutes across all competitions.

The youngster scored twice in 12 appearances last season, notably scoring a 92nd-minute goal in their 4-2 FA Cup win over Maresca and Leicester.

It's been a frustrating start to the season for Chelsea so far, their comprehensive 6-2 victory over Wolves was quickly forgotten thanks to a 1-1 home draw with Crystal Palace.

Maresca's side face an away trip to Bournemouth on Saturday (September 14) in their first game back from the international break.
