Chelsea are prepared to accept offers for Joao Felix in the summer transfer window after he returns from his loan spell at AC Milan.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 25-year-old has no future at Chelsea and is not part of Enzo Maresca's plans.

Meanwhile, the Serie A giants have no intention of making his loan permanent as he has failed to impress during the early stages of his short-term spell.

Football Insider revealed on 7 February that Felix will return to Chelsea at the end of the season to allow the Italian club to establish their plans for the future.

However, upon his return to Stamford Bridge, the Portugal international is expected to leave the club on a permanent basis - just 12 months after arriving from Atletico Madrid.

Chelsea will attempt to make back a large proportion of the £44.5million spent to sign him last summer, but have accepted they may need to cut their losses.

Joao Felix has no future at Chelsea after Enzo Maresca decision

Maresca and his staff are said to have been unimpressed with the forward's training and performances since his arrival, and have no intention of having him return to their plans.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted that the manager is now prepared to let Felix leave for good and offers will be entertained.

"They're going to let Joao Felix leave permanently," he told Football Insider.

"I think they've seen enough of him there, the manager and his staff haven't been impressed.

"He's come to the conclusion that he's just not as good as they expected to be when they signed him last summer, he hasn't made enough of a difference.

"He went on loan to Milan but it seems they're not going to take that deal any further.

"He's been in their team but hasn't pulled up many trees over there.

"Chelsea's problem at the moment is that they're so inconsistent, they could win three-nil or lose three-nil in their next game and I wouldn't be surprised.

"Players like Felix aren't going to help them resolve that problem.

"If offers come in for him, they want to get back most of the money they spent on him last year, but I think they might have to accept that might not be possible."

Enzo Fernandez update emerges amid Real Madrid interest

Joao Felix may not be the only big-name star to leave Chelsea this summer, as a number of their other key players are attracting interest in a potential move.

Brown told Football Insider on 17 March that Enzo Fernandez is wanted by Real Madrid as they look to bolster their midfield options for the future.

The World Cup-winner has made 35 appearances so far this season, scoring five goals providing nine assists as the Blues aim for Champions League qualification.

However, a significant offer from Los Blancos could tempt them into selling as he plays in a position where they have plenty of options for cover.
