Chelsea have provided their financial situation with a significant boost after securing their place in next season’s Champions League.

The London giants finished fourth in the Premier League table, having recorded victories in five of their last six games, including a 1-0 victory at Nottingham Forest on the final day.

Chelsea are now gearing up to play in the Club World Cup in the US this summer alongside Manchester City, with the 32-team competition set to take place in the US between 15 June and 13 July.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider Chelsea will bank around £130million from the Champions League and Club World Cup.

Enzo Maresca’s side also won the Conference League after beating Real Betis 4-1 in the final on 28 May.

Chelsea landed £18million in prize money following their European success.

The west London club’s latest accounts for 2023-24 revealed their revenue fell from £513million in 2022-23 to £469million.

Chelsea set for guaranteed £80m payout

Borson revealed qualifying for the Champions League will be worth a minimum of £80milion for Chelsea.

He told Football Insider“Even with a season that's going to have in it the Club World Cup and Champions League, they still could have issues with the losses and their cost base.

“It's obviously much easier if you've got the best part of £80million minimum from the Champions League and let's say another £50milllion from the Club World Cup.

“They are obviously in a much better position than they would have been without it, or with the Europa League or just the Conference League.

“They made about €20million (£17million) from the Conference League.

“With the Conference League, you've got a lot of costs. It's not cheap to take your team all around Europe for seven or eight games away from home.

“They won't have made much from it net-net. After all the costs, they wouldn't have made much from even winning the Conference League.

“It’s just not a particularly lucrative tournament for a club like Chelsea.”
