Chelsea told to seal deal for Timo Werner replacement after 'surprising' news - pundit
Alan Hutton has claimed Armando Broja might have to fill the void left by Timo Werner at Chelsea.
However, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Tottenham and Aston Villa defender suggested the Blues should look to sign a direct replacement for the Germany international.
Broja was named on the bench for Thomas Tuchel’s side in their 1-0 victory over Everton on Saturday (6 August).
He was subbed on in place of Kai Havertz for the final 15 minutes of the match.
On Tuesday (9 August), Chelsea confirmed that Werner, 26, has returned to RB Leipzig after two seasons at Stamford Bridge.
According to the BBC (9 August), the deal is said to be worth around £25million.

When asked if he thought Broja could fill in after Werner’s departure, Hutton told Football Insider: “He might have to if it keeps going this way.
“It was a little bit surprising that Werner has left, the [Romelu] Lukaku situation was strange as well. They sometimes play with a false nine, will it be [Raheem] Sterling or Havertz?
“They’ve got options there so I don’t see it being a huge problem but I think it’s a situation that they will need to sort out. They tried to do it last year, I thought [Romelu] Lukaku coming in would be that missing piece of the jigsaw, didn’t quite work out so he won’t want to spend that kind of money again I wouldn’t have thought.
“Looking at how strong other teams are at this moment in time, they will need to bring somebody in who can score the goals for them.“
