Chelsea's final Champions League league stage clash against Napoli on Wednesday is set to be affected by poor weather in the local area after a new orange weather warning for wind.

Chelsea have been impressive since Liam Rosenior's arrival after Enzo Maresca was sacked, with four wins in his first five games in charge.

They beat Pafos 1-0 in his first Champions League game at the helm last week, and now face a tough test away at Serie A champions Napoli.

Antonio Conte's side sit 25th in the league phase standings right now, while the Blues are eighth and simply need to win in Naples and hope that other results go their way to automatically qualify for the round of 16.

Their two UCL losses so far have been on the road against Bayern Munich and Atalanta, and Wednesday's clash could be even tougher after a new weather warning in the area.

Orange and yellow warnings in place in Naples

The poor weather in the UK has seen numerous EFL games called off this week, but any Chelsea fans hoping to get away from such conditions in Italy will be disappointed.

Their subtropical climate has seen Meteoalarm issue orange and yellow weather warnings across the country for wind and rain.

Naples is one of the areas most affected, with the wind warning in place until 7pm on Wednesday, while rain is expected to fall until midnight.

Supporters can expect disruption on the roads and with public transport, while the tempo of the game may well be affected negatively too.

Cole Palmer is in contention to face Napoli after thigh issue

Palmer has struggled to make an impact on Chelsea's fortunes this season, with five goals in just 13 appearances across Premier League and Champions League matches.

The England star has suffered from several recurring injury problems, and last played in the UCL in their 3-1 loss to Bayern in September.

Chelsea fans have slammed Palmer for his recent performances, but they will hope to see a better version of him against Napoli, with Rosenior confirming that he is in contention to feature after missing their last two games.

The 23-year-old will know that he needs to have a strong first half of 2026 if he wants to play himself into Thomas Tuchel's thinking to start for England in midfield ahead of the World Cup.
