Chelsea injury 'opens door' for Estevao to establish himself in starting XI
That is according to experienced former Aston Villa, Everton and Tottenham scout, Bryan King, speaking exclusively to Football Insider.
It has been a difficult transition for the 19-year-old under new manager Xabi Alonso, who has been hesitant to give him opportunities.
Estevao has made four appearances in the Premier League this season so far but has failed to play for more than 10 minutes of normal time, and was hooked at half-time when he started against Leeds in the Carabao Cup earlier this month.
Chelsea officially signed the teenager from Palmeiras last summer in a deal worth up to £51million, and he enjoyed several highly impressive moments in his first Premier League season.
The Blues would have no problem making, at least, their money back for Estevao but will be well aware that he could be worth far more in the future.
Estevao 'has behaved impeccably' at Chelsea
Alonso has publicly insisted that Estevao is a key part of his plans, despite his lack of minutes on the pitch.
There has been growing suspicions that the Brazilian is becoming frustrated with the situation, however.
"He's 19. He's competing against [Cole] Palmer, [Morgan] Rogers and [Joao] Pedro, who are experienced international footballers," King told Football Insider.
"His best positions, he either plays wide or he's a number 10, and at the moment, those positions are being filled by very experienced footballers. Pedro is injured, so there could be an opening for the boy now.
"But I think he's behaved impeccably. He realises that there's been a new manager coming. He's got an idea on the formation he wants to play.
"I don't think there'd be any shortage of clubs wanting to take him on loan, that's for sure, but I think he's in there with those other three that I've mentioned. He's an exciting prospect.
"I mean, he's 19 years of age. He's Brazilian. I would imagine Real Madrid, Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain will be looking at his position."
What has Xabi Alonso said about Estevao?
Estevao came on against Arsenal earlier this month and came close to scoring a key equaliser - a moment that many thought would change Alonso's mind.
"Este is ready, he's training well. [Against Arsenal] he had a very good impact, he has a great chance. So he's fully involved and with a very good attitude every day," the Spaniard said a few days later.
"100% [he has an important role], because of his potential, because he's so young, but he's in that process to adapt and to learn quickly. And the season is going to be long."
Estevao is under contract until 2033 and will have to force his way out if he is to leave, but there is yet to be an indication of his willingness to do so.
