Chelsea have placed a £120million price tag on Enzo Fernandez in an effort to ward off interest from incoming Man City boss Enzo Maresca.

Fernandez has remained a standout among Premier League midfielders over the last season despite Chelsea's poor form as a team.

The World Cup winner is one of several Blues stars to be linked away from the club ahead of the summer after they failed to qualify for European football.

Fernandez struck up a close relationship with Maresca during their time together at Chelsea, with the Italian boss now set to return to management at Man City this summer.

Maresca would like to sign Fernandez at City ahead of next term, but as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Chelsea's lofty demands are set to end any likelihood of a possible move.

The Citizens saw a £122million bid rejected for Nottingham Forest star Elliot Anderson earlier this week.

Anderson is still expected to end up at the Etihad Stadium this summer, with City then unable to complete deals for both midfielders.

Man City hit Enzo Fernandez stumbling block as Chelsea demands set

Fernandez enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career so far in 2025-26, with 16 goals and 10 assists in 61 matches.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "It would take a lot of money to get him out. A move to Manchester City, I don't see it, especially if they are pursuing this move for Elliot Anderson.

"Obviously (Anderson) is their number one target, and they are still hopeful of agreeing a deal with Nottingham Forest. Chelsea are looking for around £120million for Fernandez, they're looking to recoup a lot of the money that they spent on him when he was signed from Benfica.

"Maresca is an admirer of Fernandez from their time working together at Chelsea, but that deal would probably be a bit too rich at £120million for City, especially if they get the deal for Anderson done."

Frank Lampard interested in Chelsea outcast Axel Disasi after Coventry promotion

While Fernandez seems unlikely to leave Stamford Bridge, outcast defender Disasi is set to depart following a decent loan at West Ham.

Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Coventry boss Lampard wants to sign Disasi following their promotion to the Premier League.

Disasi impressed in a short-term loan at West Ham but was unable to help them stay in the top flight, and recent reports have claimed that the Blues are keen to sell him this summer rather than agree another temporary deal.
