Harry Kane to Chelsea: Odds slashed on deal being agreed
Harry Kane could be set for a shock return to the Premier League after some top UK bookmakers slashed Chelsea's odds on being his next club.
Chelsea are not holding back in their quest to bolster new boss Xabi Alonso's squad this summer.
They have already spent over £160million on Morgan Rogers and Marco Palestra, while Maxence Lacroix is finalising a £52m move from Crystal Palace.
Several reports have claimed that Alonso wishes to add to his striker ranks this summer as Liam Delap and Nicolas Jackson are linked with moves away.
Chelsea have been backed to make a surprise move for Bayern Munich and England star Kane, as a result.
He has long been touted to return to the Premier League after leaving Tottenham in 2023, but talks are currently ongoing over a new contract at Bayern.

Kane is regarded as one of the best players in the world right now after a season in which he bagged 64 goals in 56 appearances for Vincent Kompany's side.
He has scored 146 times in 147 games for Bayern since joining in 2023, and impressed at the World Cup this summer with six goals in seven outings for England.
The 32-year-old has always been touted to return to the Premier League, as he is second to Alan Shearer in the all-time scoring charts.
While Bayern want him tied down to a new deal, two of the top UK bookmakers have slashed Chelsea's odds to 7/1 to be his next club, which means they are the clear favourites to complete a deal.
Barcelona are next up at 10/1, while Real Madrid are also in the running at 20/1 and Man United are priced at 25/1.
What has Kane said about playing in the Premier League again?
Sources have previously revealed to Football Insider that Man United are interested in Kane, but a move seems unlikely anytime soon.
Even though he has long been linked with a return to English football as the captain and top scorer of the national team, Kane has admitted that such a move is not on his agenda as it stands.
Speaking last October, he made it clear that a return to the PL was not as likely as when he joined Bayern, saying: "In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had asked me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.
"Now that I have been there a couple of years, I would probably say that has gone down a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back. What I have learned in my career is that different opportunities and different timings happen and things fall in place."
