Man United 'laughing' as Chelsea lay groundwork to 'force' Alejandro Garnacho move

Chelsea are putting plans in place to sell Alejandro Garnacho this summer amid concerns about his performances and attitude.

The 22-year-old is not going to be part of Xabi Alonso's plans for the upcoming season, likely forcing him to consider his options away from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea signed the winger from Man United for a fee of £40million last summer, but are already prepared to move him on and have not invited him back for pre-season training.

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the club were delighted to move Garnacho on last summer and the £40million fee now looks even better.

Chelsea will struggle to make back the money they spent on the winger just 12 months ago, despite reported interest from clubs in England, Spain and Saudi Arabia.

However, they remain determined to move him on, and have become the second club in just two years to force Garnacho out amid doubts about his attitude.

Could Alejandro Garnacho leave Chelsea this summer?

Brown told Football Insider in May that Chelsa are looking to sell Garnacho this summer after what has been a miserable first season for him at Stamford Bridge.

Those plans are now being put in place, with the club inviting offers from any interested parties, and Alonso not planning to include him in his pre-season preparations.

Having been pleased to sell him in the first place, Man United are now believed to be delighted with their business, while Chelsea are in a difficult position.

"It doesn't come as a surprise to me whatsoever that Chelsea aren't keen on Garnacho," Brown told Football Insider.

"You hear the same things about him there as you did at Man United, he's not consistent enough, he's not good enough when called upon, and there are doubts about his attitude.

"Man United will be laughing, they did very well to get £40million for him last summer which they were very happy with, and now their decision has been proved right.

"Alonso doesn't see him as being part of his plans, so Chelsea are looking to move him on again, but they'd do well to get back the money they spent.

"I can't imagine there's any club willing to part with £40million for a player who has been forced out of two clubs in two years, especially with those concerns about his attitude."

How do Man United feel about Garnacho's Chelsea spell?

As mentioned previously, Man United were happy to sell Garnacho last summer, with Ruben Amorim pushing him out of the exit door as he was not part of his plans.

The same now looks set to happen under Alonso, with the Chelsea boss beginning pre-season preparations without the Argentina international.

Brown told Football Insider in May that Man United are delighted with how Garnacho's move to Chelsea has panned out and the money they made from his sale.

The 21-year-old has struggled to establish himself as a regular fixture in the starting XI, and when called upon has not done enough to impress his coaches.

Having made the £40million switch from Old Trafford last summer, Blues chiefs were hoping for significantly more impact in his debut season in West London.
