Sources: Chelsea senior trio to leave on permanent deals
Chelsea’s three returning loanees Axel Disasi, Tyrique George and David Datro Fofana are all set to leave the club permanently this summer, Football Insider understands.
They are each exploring moves to new clubs, and Chelsea expect the trio to depart before the summer window shuts.
Disasi spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, and impressed despite their eventual relegation to the Championship
George struggled to make an impact in a short-term stint at Everton, and they look unlikely to trigger his buy clause before it expires on 30 June.
Fofana failed to break into sister club Strasbourg's starting eleven, and now each player will be allowed to move on permanently this summer.
Xabi Alonso will be tasked with clearing the deadwood from his squad this summer as the Blues prepare for a rare season without European football.
It remains to be seen when each player leaves, but the current expectation is that they will not be Chelsea players by the end of August.
Xabi Alonso wants to shift three stars as summer overhaul begins
Alonso already has a bloated squad to deal with before any new signings have been made, with as many as 10 loanees returning to the first-team fold.
Disasi is set to be the most valuable and in-demand of the aforementioned trio, as he has three years left on his current contract, and was one of West Ham's few shining lights from January onwards.
While George showed glimpses of his ability on Merseyside, Everton have only expressed a desire to sign him permanently if they are able to do so for less than his £20million buy option.
Chelsea signed Fofana from Molde in 2023 with high hopes for the future, but he has only made four senior appearances for the club and has no chance of forcing his way into Alonso's plans.
Which clubs are eyeing Disasi this summer?
The five-time France international has also not lived up to expectations at Stamford Bridge, but seems likely to stay in the Premier League ahead of next term.
He started 14 consecutive league games for West Ham towards the end of last season and won plaudits for the positive impact he had on their defensive performances.
Sources have exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Coventry are keen on Disasi as Frank Lampard would like to raid his old club for some outcasted stars.
Leeds are also believed to be keeping an eye on the 28-year-old as they aim to bolster their backline options amid uncertainty over Pascal Struijk's future.
