Aston Villa have now emerged as the odds-on favourites to sign Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson this summer transfer window.

The 25-year-old striker has been heavily linked with a move to Villa Park throughout the summer as Unai Emery looks to reinforce his frontline.

On Monday, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Villa are working on deals to sign both Jackson and Liam Delap from Chelsea, in what could be a sensational double deal.

Now, one UK bookmaker has slashed the odds of Villa completing the signing of Jackson down to 8/11.

The Senegal international could be a direct replacement for Ollie Watkins, who has been heavily linked away from the club in recent days.

The striker was left out of the squad in Villa’s 4-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion on the weekend as Al Hilal eye his signature.

Nicolas Jackson to Aston Villa feels inevitable

While a deal is yet to be struck between Aston Villa and Chelsea, there does feel a sense of inevitability that Jackson will move to the Birmingham outfit.

The striker has been linked to Villa Park for months, and the club are now more desperate than ever to bring in attacking reinforcements.

Emery is also clearly a fan of the striker, with the two working together back at Villarreal.

Jackson’s omission from the Chelsea squad on Monday also shows that he is not in Xabi Alonso’s plans this season.

However, it is now down to Villa to see if they can get a fee agreed for the attacker.

Who else is linked to Jackson?

Other than Villa, the bookies still consider Tottenham Hotspur to be in the race for Jackson.

Spurs are at 9/2 odds to strike a deal before the transfer window closes.

Napoli and Everton are also potential destinations at 6/1 and 7/1, with the latter also on the hunt for a new striker.

Roma have also seen their odds slashed, with the Italian giants now 8/1 to strike a deal.

Bayern Munich are considered outsiders at 10/1, with Jackson spending the 2025-26 campaign on loan at the Bundesliga club.

However, it remains to be seen where Jackson will be playing his football throughout the 2026-27 campaign.
