Manchester City are unwilling to meet Chelsea’s £75million price tag for Malo Gustosources have told Football Insider.

The 23-year-old right-back is a target for City, but the club would only be willing to pay as much as £45m.

Enzo Maresca is keen to upgrade his full-back department and has worked with Gusto at Chelsea.

The France international is a target for numerous clubs, but no one is willing to meet the Blues’ valuation.

Chelsea are not looking to actively sell Gusto, but would not stand in the way of a departure if a £75m bid comes in.

The full-back played 34 Premier League matches last season for the club and scored twice.

How good was Malo Gusto for Chelsea last season?

Gusto was one of Chelsea’s main stars of the 2025-26 campaign despite their poor season.

Since joining from Lyon in 2023, the full-back has quickly established himself as one of the biggest names in the team.

According to Fotmob on 25 June, the full-back has plenty of eye-catching stats, which have no doubt helped attract the attention of Man City.

Per 90 minutes, he is averaging 0.08 goals, 0.12 assists, 1.07 chances created, 2.10 tackles, 4.84 recoveries and 1.23 interceptions in the Premier League.

At just 23 years old, Gusto obviously has the chance to improve these further as he progresses in his career.

However, it remains to be seen if Man City will be able to acquire the star over the coming months.

Who else are Man City interested in?

Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Man City will only make a move for Sandro Tonali if another midfielder leaves the Etihad this summer transfer window.

While City are big admirers of the Magpies star, their main focus is currently on securing the signing of Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.

City are "waiting in the wings" to accelerate their interest in the Italian, but will only do so if another midfield exit occurs at the Etihad Stadium.

Tonali’s future has been heavily speculated upon for months after Newcastle failed to secure European football this season.

However, it remains to be seen if the 26-year-old will be playing his football at St James’ Park this campaign, or if he will move elsewhere.
