Chris Sutton has brilliantly slapped down talkSPORT host Adrian Durham for his prediction that former Rangers boss Mark Warburton could become a potential England manager.
Former Celtic striker Sutton stated that Durham should perhaps “rethink” his Warburton prediction after he made the comments in April 2016.
At that time, former Brentford boss Warburton was helping the Gers earn promotion to the Scottish Premiership on the back of knocking their Old Firm rivals out of the Scottish Cup.
Since then, he has left the Glasgow club who are now 33 points behind their rivals in the SPL table after suffering three defeats against Brendan Rodgers side this season.
Here was Sutton’s comments to Durham after the duo had become embroiled in a row:
“He’s entitled to his opinion,” Sutton told the Daily Record. “Absolutely entitled but I’d maybe rethink the Mark Warburton for England manager one.
“And that Mark Warburton has been building his excellent reputation at Rangers.
“The only accurate thing I’ve seen Adrian say of late is that Mark Warburton has transformed Rangers. Yes, Adrian he certainly has….”
Since Warburton left his post at Rangers in February, under-20 coach Graeme Murty has been in charge of first-team duties.
Qatari club Al-Gharafa confirmed on their official Twitter account on Thursday that their manager Pedro Caixinha has been granted permission to join the Scottish club.
The managerless club have an important clash against Celtic this Sunday at Parkhead with their rivals yet to be beaten on the domestic circuit this term.
Furthermore, the Bhoys have scored eight goals in three matches against their neighbours with Warburton in charge of all of those encounters.
In other Rangers news, these are the three most likely senior players to leave the club this summer.
