Chris Sutton delivers Tottenham verdict after win v Crystal Palace

By Matt Bullin

Former Blackburn and Celtic striker Chris Sutton has praised Tottenham after their win against Crystal Palace last night.

Spurs came away with a 1-0 win as Christian Eriksen’s 30-yard pearler was the difference between the sides.

The result meant that not only did Tottenham bounce back from a disappointing FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, they also closed the gap on the Blues at the top of the league.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side now trail Chelsea by just four points with five games left to play.

It also means Spurs stretched their winning streak in the Premier League to eight games, and at home they have now won 12 league games on the bounce.

Sutton posted his message praising Pochettino’s side on his personal Twitter account after their victory.

Next up for Spurs is a massive north London derby match with Arsenal.

Pochettino and his side will be buoyed by the news Arsenal skipper Laurent Koscielny is a doubt for the game.

Meanwhile Chelsea face arguably their toughest test of their Premier League run in, as they travel to Goodison Park to take on an in-form Everton side.

Sutton was part of the 1995 Premier League winning Blackburn team, and also won four Scottish Premierships and three Scottish Cups with the Hoops.

In other Tottenham news, Jamie Redknapp has claimed this 25-year-old Spurs star does not get the praise he deserves.
