Chris Sutton explains why Rangers manager Caixinha is foolish
By Amir Mir
Chris Sutton believes Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is “foolish” for thinking he has the best squad in Scotland.
The Portuguese made those comments prior to his managerial debut against Hamilton on Saturday afternoon at Ibrox.
Caixinha stated that he has inherited “the best squad” in Scotland, comments that would leave Celtic supporters flabbergasted.
Brendan Rodgers side are unbeaten on the domestic scene this season, 30 points ahead of their Old Firm rivals and on course to win the treble.
Former Bhoys striker Sutton couldn’t believe Caixinha would make such comments about a side that has struggled to perform consistently this term.

“Rangers have got a new manager in place,” Sutton told BT Sports. “He’s got a really tough job on. He will need time.
“I think he is a bit foolish to say he has the ‘best squad in Scotland’. Absolutely ridiculous. If I was Rangers, I would take third place now, regroup and go against next season.
“Take the pressure off yourself, Celtic are the stronger squad. Absolutely no doubt about that.”
Caixinha picked up three points in his first game in charge of the Gers with his team brushing aside Hamilton by winning the SPL encounter 4-0 at Ibrox.
He was in the stands last week when his team snatched a late draw at Celtic with Clint Hill scoring the late equaliser.
Despite Caixinha thinking he has the best squad in Scotland, the Hoops have inflicted three defeats on their rivals already this term, including a 5-1 win in September.
Furthermore, after Mark Warburton left his post in February, the Glasgow club narrowly beat Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup and suffered a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Hearts.
Caixinha will be put to the test when the Old Firm duo meet for a fifth time this season, this time a Scottish League Cup semi-final clash on April 23 at Hampden.
