Outspoken pundit Chris Sutton fired back at Rangers by bringing up their Europa League defeat once more after Celtic’s Champions League draw with Rosenborg on Wednesday evening.
The Hoops were held to a 0-0 stalemate with the Norwegian club at Parkhead with both striker stars Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths missing the clash.
It brought much hilarity to the Ibrox fan base with Gers supporters now keen to see Celtic fall out of the Champions League qualifying stage and many were happy to poke fun on Wednesday.
However, Hoops fans were also quick to defend the draw and that included former striker Sutton, who posted via his personal Twitter account that he expected Gers supporters would be keeping a low profile after their Europa League humiliation against Progres Niederkorn.
Blimey…All about opinions 👍 But I'd be keeping a lower profile if my team got eliminated by the mighty Luxembourgs 4th best…. https://t.co/xVZ5uVuTF7

Rangers themselves dropped out of the Europa League qualifying rounds after a 2-1 aggregate defeat against Luxembourg-based side Progres Niederkorn.
It was a hammering blow for the Ibrox giants after early optimism going into the new season under Pedro Caixinha alongside a new look team.
However, they will now be aiming to close the gap on Celtic in the Premiership in the next campaign, while the Hoops will want to ensure they qualify for the Champions League.
In other Rangers news, this proven forward is the Gers’ most likely next signing.
