BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has named four Celtic players in his Scottish Premiership team of the week after they beat Rangers at the weekend.

The former Hoops striker unveiled the ever-intriguing list on his personal Twitter account on Monday.

The main takeaway is that it features five of the Hoops players who stood out in the 3-2 win over Rangers at Ibrox, which saw the Bhoys all but clinch their seventh consecutive league title.

The players selected in the team are goalkeeper Scott Bain, who made a successful Hoops debut with two saves from Alfredo Morelos.

The midfield duo of Scott Brown and Olivier Ntcham who controlled the game, and Tom Rogic, who scored the Bhoys’ first goal with a superb strike from 25 yards out.

The fifth and final player to be selected is Odsonne Edouard, who scored the winning goal in the second-half after a fine strike.

Football Insider verdict

It’s hard to complain with any of Sutton’s selections. Bain overcame a jittery start to make some excellent saves in the second-half, whilst Brown and Ntcham were excellent in midfield, particularly in the second-half when the Bhoys were reduced to ten men. Rogic justified his selection with the superb opening goal for the Bhoys, whilst Edouard’s composed finish for the winner shows why he was selected. Perhaps the Bhoys’ best defender on the day, Kristoffer Ajer, could have been selected for the team but as neither defence in the game covered themselves in glory it is understandable why no Hoops defenders were selected.
