Chris Sutton names four Rangers and Celtic players in TOTW

BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton has named four Celtic and Rangers players in his Scottish Premiership team of the week.

The former Hoops striker named the always-interesting line-up on his personal Twitter account.

There are three Celtic players named in the team after the Hoops’ 3-1 win over Hearts, with goalscorers Moussa Dembele and Dedryck Boyata selected, and assist king Tom Rogic as well.

The one Rangers player selected is the soon to depart David Bates, who scored the winning goal against Kilmarnock which gave the Gers a chance of finishing second in the Scottish Premiership table.

Football Insider verdict

You can’t really argue with any of the selections made by Sutton, the Hoops players were key to their victory, whilst Bates’ goal was massive for the Gers as it kept them in the battle to finish second in the Scottish Premiership. As for any omissions from the side, perhaps Hoops captain Scott Brown should have been named in the side, as he stood up to be counted after a dreadful challenge by Steven Naismith early in the match. But Sutton can’t be criticised for any of his selections, particularly Rogic, whose incredible pass to Dembele to set up the Hoops’ second goal was undeniably the highlight of the Hoops’ victory at Tynecastle, with Boyata’s unexpectedly good header the other highlight of the game, as far as the Hoops are concerned. Dembele and Bates also scored vital goals for their teams, and are well-worthy of their inclusions in Sutton’s team of the week.
