Chris Sutton has named more Celtic players than Rangers players in his team of the week after what was a good week of results for both of the fierce Glasgow rivals.

The Hoops went top of the Scottish Premiership with a convincing 4-1 win over Hamilton at the SuperSeal Stadium on Friday night while Rangers dispatched of Dundee by the same result at Ibrox on Saturday to secure back-to-back victories.

Scott Sinclair, who hit a brace against Hamilton, goalscorer Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts make up the Hoops contingent in Sutton’s team of the week while Daniel Candeias and Alfredo Morelos were the Light Blues stars.

Former Celtic striker Sutton posted his team of the week on his personal Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

Rangers moved up to fourth in the Premiership standings after victory over a Dundee side which was totally outclassed by the goalscoring tenacity of Morelos and Candeias’ wicked display on the wing.

Celtic leapfrogged Aberdeen to the top of the standings after Derek McInnes’ side was held to a draw by Hearts, ending their 100 per cent start the season.

Odsonne Edouard is the only goal scorer from their win over Hamilton to have missed out on a spot in Sutton’s team of the week but it would have been perhaps harsh to include him over Morelos, who has made an early start in his bid to win the golden boot award with a brace over Dundee.

In other Rangers news, ex-Ibrox midfielder Joey Barton has aimed a dig at Scottish people’s perception of football in the Premiership.
