Chris Wood has sent a message to Nottingham Forest fans about their Premier League title hopes after their latest result.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men picked up another three points on Monday (6 January) to keep the pressure on Liverpool at the top of the table.

Forest defeated Wolves 3-0 at Molineux with goals from Morgan Gibbs-White, Wood, and Taiwo Awoniyi keeping them just six points behind Liverpool.

Forest have been the surprise package this season in the Premier League and Wood’s impressive individual campaign has helped to fire them into that position.

The 33-year-old has scored 12 goals in 20 Premier League appearances this season as he continues to be a threat in front of goal.

The New Zealand international reflected on Forest’s position with his latest Instagram message which said, “+3 We keep pushing.”

Nottingham Forest will look to secure Chris Wood’s future

Wood might be focused on trying to push Forest into the Premier League title race, but he’s currently set to be a free agent at the end of the season.

The striker is out of contract at the City Ground in the summer, and he is currently available to negotiate with foreign clubs about a potential pre-contract agreement.

The club are set to offer the striker a brand new contract to reward Wood for his performances this season.

Forest will be back in action on Saturday (11 January) when they face Luton Town in the FA Cup third round.
