Chelsea fans agree with sporting director Paul Winstanley's claim that Cole Palmer has the ability to win the Ballon d'Or one day.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Winstanley, 45, said, "Cole Palmer can win the Ballon d'Or one day. No doubt he can, no doubt".

He then added, "He’s got a bit of maverick personality on the pitch, you can see that. You can see it in training, you can see it in the games".

No Premier League player has contributed to more goals than the 22-year-old since the start of last season, with 43 goal involvements.

The attacking midfielder has carried his remarkable form into this season, scoring six goals and providing five assists as Chelsea are once again in the conversation for Champions League qualification.

Chelsea chief hedges bets on Cole Palmer

Palmer has been the most successful addition in what has been somewhat of a scattergun transfer strategy under the Todd Boehly and Clearlake regime.

The England international clearly has the backing of the powers that be at Stamford Bridge and the fans are in agreement.
