Collymore delivers three-word Twitter verdict on speculation over Grealish
By Will Butcher
Stan Collymore revealed that he “would be disappointed” if Jack Grealish left Aston Villa to join Middlesbrough this month.
The Mirror then reported that Grealish could form part of a cash-plus-player deal, as Bruce wants £10m-rated striker Jordan Rhodes.
However, Collymore posted his verdict when replying to a fan on his personal Twitter account on Friday evening, as he believes Villa would be better off keeping their academy product.

Claudio Ranieri’s side are believed to have had a £12million bid rejected for Ramirez, with Boro holding out for a fee of £15million.
Villa and Boro have already struck four deals this season in terms of transfers, with Brad Guzan, Rudy Gestede and Adama Traore going to the Riverside. Albert Adomah went the other way.
Now Grealish could become the fifth player to swap sides, as Karanka has reportedly identified Villa’s academy product as the man to replace Ramirez, should he leave.
Since his debut for Villa back in May 2014 against Man City, Grealish has made a total of 39 league and cup appearances in claret and blue.
Football Insider verdict:
Manager Steve Bruce must do everything within his power to keep Grealish at Villa Park, and build the team around his raw, natural talent instead of cashing in on the youngster. Villa’s number 40 has shone this season, proving to Bruce and fans alike that he is a player that can change games despite his tender age. With Bruce looking to maintain his reputation as a promotion expert, Grealish is likely to play an integral part in helping the Midlands giants look to achieve a play-off place in the Championship. A number of signings at Villa Park have failed to prove their transfer fee, and any replacement for Grealish may struggle to impress. Villa, then, would be wise to keep one their most talented players.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, George Boateng has also had his say on Grealish’s reported interest.
