Pearce: These are the first two things we must do at West Ham
By John Reid
Stuart Pearce has been talking about the job that he and David Moyes have to do at West Ham, and claims that togetherness and confidence are the two things the players need.
Pearce started working at the club today, and is one of three assistant managers who will help Moyes, the others being Alan Irvine and Billy McKinlay.
Speaking to West Ham’s official website, Pearce has talked about how the squad have to bond together as one with the management team, to help build confidence at the club.
He said “It’s not going to be easy, no one is expecting it to be, because the stakes are very high in the Premier League, but I think with the staff here and the squad of players, we have a great chance.
“The main thing is to enhance the togetherness at the club… it is clear that everyone needs galvanizing.

“Confidence has been dented and that is part of the task, to get that back on track.”
Moyes begun his first full week at West Ham today, after taking over from Slaven Bilic following West Ham’s 4-1 loss to Liverpool before international break.
The Hammers currently sit in 18th place in the Premier League, with Moyes’ first game in charge a trip to Watford on Sunday.
