Confirmed: Chairman delivers huge Rangers transfer news, another signing due imminently

Hamilton’s chairman Ronnie MacDonald confirmed last night that the transfer of midfielder Greg Docherty to Rangers was “done”.
He confirmed the deal after Rangers had blown away top-of-the-table rivals Aberdeen 2-0 at Ibrox with goals from Alfredo Morelos and James Tavernier.
It was stated that the deal for Docherty was finally agreed at around 6pm on Wednesday evening and that the player will be officially announced on Thursday.
Talking in the Daily Record, MacDonald said, “Regarding Greg Docherty, we’ve reached agreement to sign him and we have exchanged financial documents, so they now have permission to speak to Greg and his agent, and have a medical, so effectively that deal is done, agreed.
“It met my expectations, which probably tells you enough [about the fee].”
The Daily Record claimed  that Docherty was on the verge of signing on Wednesday night, and that the deal would go through 24 hours later than expected.
The fee is said to be £650,000 and Docherty will now be paraded as Graeme Murty’s sixth signing of January in what has been a very busy window for Rangers.
Sean Goss, Jamie Murphy, Jason Cummings, Russell Martin and Declan John have all signed for Murty in January.
In other Rangers news, fans have been in meltdown in Twitter as Paul Gascoigne posted a brilliant tweet about the Gers.
