Tottenham have confirmed that record breaking signing Davinson Sanchez has agreed terms on a new contract which will keep him at the club until 2024.
The Lilywhites revealed via their official Twitter account that the Columbian defender, who arrived for the club’s highest ever transfer fee – £42million, as claimed by the Guardian – from Ajax last summer, had put pen to paper on a new deal less than 12 months after he signed for Spurs.

Sanchez, 21, has been a sensation at the heart of the defence for Spurs, making 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal, as he impressed both fans and pundit alike with his technique and talent at the back.
Football Insider verdict
Tottenham fans have been over the moon with how Sanchez has performed since his arrival, and at just 21-years-old, they have a lot to look forward to as the years go by. He is well deserving of a reward for his displays at the heart of defence and he has been given just that with a new contract – Spurs obviously wanting to do everything in their power to keep potential suitors from poaching him from under their nose. It might not be the centre back that Tottenham fans want to see put pen to paper – with Toby Alderweireld’s future still very much up in the air right now – but at least they are getting some of their other top talents to commit their long-term futures in north London. This likely is just the first of many new contract announcements coming the fans’ way this summer – whether Alderweireld is among them remains to be seen.
