Nigel Clough has confirmed that Jon McLaughlin and Marvin Sordell are injury doubts for Burton ahead of their Saturday afternoon clash against Leeds.
Championship minnows Burton are hoping to secure safety in the second-tier as they eased their relegation fears with a 2-0 win against Birmingham on Easter Monday.
During that match, goalkeeper McLaughlin was forced off injured in the first half with the experienced Stephen Bywater replacing him between the sticks.
Added to that, striker Sordell is also a doubt as their opponents will be looking to get their promotion run back on track following a costly defeat at home to Wolves on Monday.
Clough issued an update on the two key blows for his side ahead of their weekend showdown with Leeds.
“Jon and Marvin are two doubts for Saturday,” said Clough as posted by the club’s official website.
“A few lads got knocks on Monday. Not too many training at the minute but we will try and get them out Friday.”
Goalkeeper McLaughlin has been a regular feature for Clough’s side this season, playing in 43 Championship games and secure ten clean sheets.
On the other hand, versatile attacker Sordell has played 18 Championship matches, scoring three goals added with his two assists.
Three matches of the Championship season remain and defeat for either side could prove to be costly.
Albion could fall closer to the relegation zone while their opponents could shatter their play-off hopes by finishing outside of the top six.
This despite Monk’s side sitting in the play-off places for the majority of the campaign as they aim to end their 13-year drought from the Premier League.
