Chelsea star Conor Gallagher is not keen on joining Aston Villa and could reject a move to the club.

Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that Chelsea could now offer the midfielder a new contract at Stamford Bridge despite previous reservations.

The Blues need to sell players to help them comply with profit and sustainability rules, with the 24-year-old previously earmarked as a possible sale.

However, Gallagher's intention remains to stay at Chelsea despite interest from Villa as they look to replace the outgoing Douglas Luiz, as well as Tottenham.

Gallagher had been named as a target for Unai Emery as they search for a possible replacement, but sources say they will now consider other options.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are in advanced talks over a deal to sign Villa's Jhon Duran, having reached an agreement in principle, as revealed by Football Insider.

While the Blues remain interested in the Villa forward, any suggestion of a swap deal involving Duran and Gallagher has been dismissed due to the midfielder's preference to stay at Chelsea.

The England international's current contract at Stamford Bridge is set to expire next summer, but he is keen on signing a new deal should Chelsea's position change.
