Tottenham make approach for Everton attacker (not Barkley) - report
By Danny Wright
Tottenham have approached Everton with an enquiry about the availability of attacker Henry Onyekuru, according to a report.
Nigerian news outlet 90 Minutes Goal claims that Spurs are in the hunt for Onyekuru, 20, and are considering a move for him next summer as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.
It is understood that Spurs are worried about losing Kane, 24, to Real Madrid at the end of the season and have already started to make contingency plans for the possible eventuality of seeing the England international exit.
Onyekuru is currently on loan in Belgium with Anderlecht having failed to have received a work permit when he signed for Everton in the summer.
The two-times Nigeria international joined the Toffees in the summer from KAS Eupean, but instantly returned to the Belgium top-flight with Brussels giants Anderlecht where he has so far scored eight goals in 20 appearances across all competitions.

Onyekuru is not the only attacking player on the books at Goodison Park that is wanted by Tottenham as the Mirror has previously reported that the North London club are keeping track of Ross Barkley’s situation ahead of the January transfer window.
Football Insider Verdict
Tottenham should wait until after the World Cup in Russia next summer before trying to see about making a move for Onyekuru. At the moment he hasn’t been able to obtain a work permit to play in the UK which is why he is still in Belgium but if he plays more for Nigeria over the coming months, it may enhance his chances of getting to play. That being said though, Everton may then want to massively hike up their asking price. It seems unlikely that Kane would leave and Onyekuru has been more of a winger in his career so far. That means he wouldn’t be anywhere near an ideal enough replacement, but a good prospect for the future.
