Leeds United fans have taken to social media to rave over a report that stated Tom Pearce has agreed terms over a new deal at Elland Road just weeks before his contract was set to expire.

The reliable Pete O’Rourke has claimed on his personal Twitter account, as well as writing for HITC, that the 20-year-old left back has put pen to paper over a new three-year extension to his stay with the Whites, having broken through the youth ranks and into the senior side.

The youngster found himself as one of a handful of breakout stars in Leeds’ starting XI over the past year after battling January capture Laurens de Bock, joining the likes of Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Paudie O’Connor in establishing themselves in the first team after coming through the system at Thorpe Arch.

With five appearances and a single goal under his belt, there are high hopes for the defender and the fans were left delighted on Twitter to see him finally commit his long term future to the club, with many doubts over whether he would stay or go as his deal ran down.
