Brighton and Crystal Palace have set their sights on signing West Brom loan sensation Mbaye Diagne this summer, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

The striker, 29, has made a big impact at the Hawthorns since joining in the January transfer window on a temporary deal from Galatasaray.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Brighton and Palace are monitoring Diagne's situation going into the summer window.

The Premier League duo have shortlisted the Senegal international as a target as they look to strengthen their forward lines.

Diagne will almost certainly not be staying at West Brom if, as expected, they get relegated from the Premier League.

Sam Allardyce's side are 10 points adrift of safety with just four matches of their top-flight campaign remaining.

Diagne has impressed at centre-forward since joining on a short-term deal.

He has made 14 Premier League appearances, including 13 consecutive starts, and weighed in with three goals.

The nine-times international has not been prolific but his power and hard running has added a new dimension to the Albion attack.

Diagne has a contract at Galatasaray that runs until the summer of 2023.

It remains to be seen if the Turkish club will be willing to cash in on a player who has a fine scoring record in the Super Lig.

Diagne has banged in 51 goals from just 64 league matches in Turkey at Galatasaray and former club Kasimpasa.
