Crystal Palace 'doing everything' to agree Tyrick Mitchell deal
Crystal Palace are prepared to do everything in their power to agree a contract extension for Tyrick Mitchell.
The 27-year-old has been a stalwart at Selhurst Park since he made his first-team debut in 2020, and has now made 247 appearances across all competitions.
The left-back played a starring role in Crystal Palace first win under Pierre Sage as he scored twice in a 3-2 win against Fulham in a comeback win at Craven Cottage.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Crystal Palace are now planning to offer Mitchell a "bumper" contract as a reward for his services.
The England international's current contract is set to expire next summer, and work is now underway behind the scenes to extend his stay in South London.
Mitchell is believed to be very happy at Crystal Palace and is willing to discuss terms over a new deal, having played a key role in their FA Cup and Conference League victories.
Why do Crystal Palace want to keep Tyrick Mitchell?
Brown told Football Insider last year that Crystal Palace have no plans to lose Mitchell in the near future, despite previous reports of interest from Arsenal and Man United.
The left-back has caught the eye of a number of top clubs thanks to his consistency and defensive qualities, which have also made him a crucial player for the Eagles.
He has made significant progress in his attacking game over the last two seasons as well, and is an ever-present at Selhurst Park, with the club keen to reward him for his displays.
"Tyrick Mitchell has been an outstanding player for Crystal Palace," Brown told Football Insider.
"They will be doing everything in their power to keep him at the club and extend his contract, so I expect there will be a bumper deal in the offing for him in the near future.
"Palace want to show how much they appreciate, admire and respect the job he has done for them over a number of years now.
"He gives you an 8/10 performance every week, he's always available, never kicks up a fuss or causes any problems, he just gets on with his job and he does it well.
"He's the exact type of player every club in the world would want in their squad, and to be honest, Crystal Palace would probably want four or five more with that sort of attitude.
"By all accounts, he's happy at Crystal Palace as well, and like I say, they are delighted with him so I'm sure efforts will be made to make sure he sticks around well into the future."

Mitchell is not the only Crystal Palace player being linked up for new contract talks between now and the end of the season, as they look to tie down their best players.
Dean Henderson is among those who Crystal Palace are keen to keep around, while they have been reluctant to entertain offers for other first-team stars.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider in June that Crystal Palace have held contract talks with Chris Richards about extending his stay at Selhurst Park.
Like Mitchell, Richards' current contract is set to expire in 2027, and Palace are keen to reward him for the important role he has played in their recent success.
Despite a rocky start to the new season, likely due to a limited pre-season campaign after the World Cup, the USA international is very highly regarded at Crystal Palace.
