Oliver Glasner is keen to remain in top-level management when he leaves Crystal Palace at the end of the season despite speculation he could take on a new role.

The 51-year-old is currently focused on seeing out the season at Selhurst Park, with the Eagles still aiming for Conference League glory and a high Premier League finish.

He announced in January that he would leave the club at the end of the season in search of a new challenge, and is already believed to be considering his next club.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, a number of Premier League and European clubs are keen on Glasner.

He has proven his qualities during his two years at Palace, leading them to FA Cup and Community Shield success, and Crystal Palace are already eyeing their next manager.

Oliver Glasner eyeing new job after Crystal Palace exit

Football Insider revealed on 27 February that Man United are unlikely to pursue Glasner and have set their sights on other options instead.

The Austrian remains highly regarded across a number of European clubs, however, with the manager market expected to explode during the summer.

There had been suggestions that he could step into a new role at Red Bull to replace Jurgen Klopp, but he has no intention of stepping away from the dugout.

Speaking on the Inside Track podcast, I explained: "Yeah, I would say it's very unlikely that something like that would happen.

"Obviously, Red Bull officials did come out and deny those suggestions at Jurgen Klopp could leave his role there and potentially return to management.

"Glasner obviously, as you said, has links to the Red Bull operation but I don't see him rushing to leave the managerial dugout anytime soon.

"Obviously, he's going to leave Crystal Palace at the end of season when his contract expires but I'm sure Glasner will be looking to continue in coaching and being a manager.

"He'll want to be at the front rather than taking a sort of a backseat role at Red Bull, looking after their operations.

"I'm sure Glasner is weighing up a lot of options right now where he will continue his career because there'll be interest from the Premier League and from Europe as well because of how well he's done at Palace and how well he did at Frankfurt as well.

"So I don't think there's any indication that Glasner's ready to give up his coaching career just yet.

"And as I said Jurgen Klopp seems happy at Red Bull and what he's doing and Red Bull are happy with him so looks like a bit of a non-starter that report to me."

Who will be the next Crystal Palace manager?

Crystal Palace have been searching for their next manager since before Glasner announced his departure as he was always likely to leave upon the expiry of his contract.

They have been linked with a number of high-profile options including the likes of Roger Schmidt, Sean Dyche and Frank Lampard, but no decision is clear as of yet.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed that Thomas Frank is a contender for Crystal Palace and they view him among their top targets after his departure from Spurs.

The 52-year-old’s availability and Premier League experience has placed him high on their list despite what proved to be a nightmare spell at Tottenham.

Third parties have been in contact regarding a potential move, with the Eagles accelerating plans as they hope to have somebody in line shortly after Glasner’s exit.
