Sources: Crystal Palace submit £50m Lamine Camara offer

Crystal Palace have seen a £50million bid rejected for Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, sources have told Football Insider.

The Eagles have earmarked the 22-year-old as a player with the potential to improve their squad, but have seen their opening bid knocked back by Monaco.

The French outfit hold the Senegal international in extremely high regard, and will require a bigger offer to consider cashing in on him this summer.

Sources have indicated that Camara is also being monitored by both Manchester United and Chelsea.

Premier League clubs are now aware that it will take a huge fee to dislodge Camara, who has become one of Ligue 1's brightest young stars in recent years.

The youngster made 24 appearances in the league for Monaco last term, and chipped in with three goals and four assists from the middle of the park.

Camara's performances for Monaco have seen him emerge on the radar of several Premier League teams this summer, with Newcastle also heavily linked with him earlier in the window.

The Magpies instead opted to sign his teammate Aladji Bamba, which has left the door open for other clubs to chase Camara in the final stages of the window.

Crystal Palace have come forward with a bid, but have been left in no doubt that they will have to up their offering if they want to win the race.

Manchester United and Chelsea are also keeping tabs on Camara, but they remain in the background for now.

The starlet is experienced beyond his years, having already featured in two Champions League campaigns, and also started every game for Senegal at this summer's World Cup.

Palace are keen to bolster their midfield ranks before the 1 September deadline, but will need to make Camara their record signing to land him.

Crystal Palace could complete second Everton deal

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider on Tuesday that fans shouldn't be surprised to see Palace right-back Daniel Munoz make the move to Merseyside in the coming weeks.

The Toffees have been linked with the Colombian of late, with the two clubs having just sealed a swap deal involving Dwight McNeil and Brennan Johnson.

Wyness believes that with amicable talks having taken place over that transfer, it would be relatively easy for the clubs to continue those discussions over Munoz.

Everton view the addition of a new right-back as a top priority, and Munoz has impressed for the Eagles in recent years.
