Crystal Palace will struggle to fend off the interest in centre-back Jaydee Canvot from PSG, sources have told Football Insider.

The French champions are tracking the 20-year-old at the moment, after an impressive start to life in the Premier League in the last 12 months.

Palace are under no pressure to sell the youngster at the moment, but they are well aware that problems could arise if PSG firm up their interest.

Sources say that the Eagles would "find it hard" to turn down offers from Luis Enrique's side, given their spending power.

The South London outfit have become accustomed to seeing their key players depart in recent years, and Canvot could soon become the next to leave.

Canvot made 36 appearances for Palace in all competitions last term, and has already started in five of their opening six Premier League games.

Jaydee Canvot to repeat Crystal Palace heartache

Canvot has quickly become a crucial figure for Palace, but that has represented something of a poisoned chalice in recent years.

Eberechi Eze, Maxence Lacroix, Michael Olise and Marc Guehi have all moved on from Selhurst Park, but the team have continuously found ways to rebuild.

Palace are well aware of the reality that it is difficult for them to maintain their squad across multiple seasons, and have also had issues with Jean-Philippe Mateta and Ismaila Sarr pushing for exits of late.

That has provided continual heartache for the club, and with PSG setting their sights on Canvot, familiar concerns will surely be emerging once again.

The back-to-back Champions League winners are keeping tabs on the youngster's progress for now, but if they put an offer on the table, Palace may succumb.

Pierre Sage: Crystal Palace make new sack decision after 'bizarre' update

'Bizarre' Pierre Sage update

Former Manchester United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider earlier this week that he finds suggestions of Palace boss Pierre Sage losing his job to be "bizarre."

The Eagles have lost just one of their last six games in all competitions, despite previously enduring a difficult start in the opening weeks.

Brown is adamant that it would "make no sense" if Palace secured their top managerial target in the summer, only to axe him this early on.

Sage is adapting to Premier League football at the moment, and his team have begun to show positive signs of late.
