Crystal Palace are stepping up their interest in Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo, Football Insider understands.

The versatile midfielder, 25, is on the radar of multiple Premier League clubs after his starring role in the Light Blues’ Europa League run.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Palace are keeping tabs on Aribo and sent scouts to watch him in Thursday’s thrilling win over Braga at Ibrox.

Aribo supplied two assists as Rangers secured a memorable 3-1 triumph to reach the semi-finals.

Football Insider first revealed Palace’s interest in Aribo last year (15 October) and they are continuing to monitor him.

The left footer, who can operate in central and attacking midfield roles as well as out wide, has a contract with the Glasgow giants that runs until the summer of 2023.

Aribo has notched eight goals and 10 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions for Rangers this term.

He joined the Ibrox club from Charlton Athletic in June 2019 and was part of the side that won the Scottish Premiership for the first time in a decade in his second season with the club.

Football Insider columnist and Celtic legend Frank McAvennie is among those who believe the seven-times Nigeria international is an outstanding talent and ex-Rangers star Steven Thomson has hailed him as "phenomenal".

Crystal Palace could well be without standout midfielder Connor Gallagher next season after his loan deal from Chelsea expires.

Patrick Vieira's side are 13th in the Premier League with seven games left to play.
