Crystal Palace are not interested in selling Daniel Munoz amid growing interest from the likes of Barcelona, Man City and Chelsea.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 28-year-old remains a crucial part of Oliver Glasner's plans.

However, a "huge" fee could tempt the Eagles to let him go as it would represent a significant profit on the £7million spent to secure his signature just over a year ago.

Munoz signed a three-year contract in January 2024 to keep him at Selhurst Park until 2027, and Palace reserve the option to extend the deal by one year.

As a result, they are in the driving seat regarding his future and while they are determined not to see him leave, any departure will be on their terms.

Interest from the likes of Barcelona and Man City has emerged as a result of his ultra-consistent performances and the energy he provides on the right-hand side.

Crystal Palace braced for 'huge' Daniel Munoz offers

Munoz scored the opening goal as Palace beat Doncaster 2-0 to progress into the fifth round of the FA Cup on 10 February - his third goal in 28 appearances this season.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted the interest in the Colombia international is not a surprise, but Palace are reluctant to lose a key player.

"I don't see any reason Palace would let him go," he told Football Insider.

"The only thing would be money, if they get a huge offer then they might take it because it would be a significant profit on what they paid for him.

"But he's such an important player in their side, they're going to be very reluctant to lose him.

"They've got a work ethic in their side which is the backbone of their team, and it gets them results which maybe you wouldn't expect.

"Munoz is a big part of that, because of the energy and work rate he brings to the team.

"Palace know which of their players are most important to them.

"The goalkeeper has done well, Guehi has been excellent, Munoz has done well and Mateta has done well. That's the spine of this team.

"So they're going to do everything they can to protect that spine.

"If there's interest from teams like Barcelona and Man City, anything can happen because of the amount of money that will be thrown around.

"But from a Palace point of view, they're not going to want to see him go."

Arsenal step up interest in Marc Guehi after William Saliba news

Another Palace defender attracting plenty of interest ahead of the summer transfer window is Marc Guehi, with multiple Premier League sides joining the race for his signature.

Tottenham and Newcastle have both been knocked back in their efforts to sign him in the last two transfer windows, but there is a growing belief he could leave Palace in the summer.

The Arsenal man has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks, and the Gunners are already putting plans in place in case of his departure.
