Danny Mills claims Man City are victims of media vendetta amid 'unfair' Liverpool claim
Danny Mills has claimed “certain media outlets and journalists” would rather Liverpool win the quadruple than Man City.
The former Citizens defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed the Merseysiders’ season must go down as a “failure” if they cannot add to their League Cup triumph this term.
Liverpool are set to take part in the FA Cup final against Chelsea next week (14 May) and are also in action against Real Madrid in the Champions League final in Paris on 28 May.
However, in the Premier League it is Man City who have the advantage – leading the Reds by one point ahead of the final four games of the season.
Mills claimed Pep Guardiola’s quadruple attempts weren’t met with the same warmth from the media.
He suggested the difference in coverage is “unfair”.

“Liverpool haven’t had the hardest run to the Champions League final,” he told Football Insider‘s Connor Whitley.
“People are talking about the quadruple. When Man City were trying to win it, it was seen as the worst thing ever and awful for football.
“But if Liverpool do it, people are talking like it will be the best thing ever. What’s the difference?
“It just seems that certain media outlets and journalists have a narrative. They’re against City. They’d much rather Liverpool win all four.
“It’s made out to be some fairy tale story. There’s a lot of romance with the European nights at Anfield that perhaps rubs off on the media.
“It’s a little bit unfair.
“If Liverpool are going to be lauded in that way – if they only win one of the four, it has to be seen as a failure.”
