Danny Murphy: This is the kind of player Tottenham are missing
By Harvey Byrne
Former midfielder Danny Murphy believes that Tottenham are missing a “high-end quality creative player” in their team.
The north London club are currently battling at the top end of the table as they sit in second place.
However, with a clear 10 points between themselves and league leaders Chelsea many feel that the squad is still lacking one more piece to the puzzle.
Now, Murphy believes Tottenham are lacking a further creative option in their team and has shared that Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela do not compare well to the players in the ranks of the other top four sides.
“Tottenham actually have a similar problem because, behind Kane, I still feel they are missing the kind of high-end quality creative player their rivals have got,” told Murphy to BBC Sport.

“I rate Christian Eriksen and Alli but Moussa Sissoko and Erik Lamela do not really compare to the options at City, Arsenal or Chelsea.
“What Spurs have instead is an ability to dig in during games when they are not playing well.
“That allows them to get results because of their team togetherness and defensive organisation, and it is the way forward for Everton too.”
Current attacking stars Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen have contributed 34 goals between them in the league this campaign.
However, Son Heung-min is the only other player to have scored more than two goals in the English top flight this season with seven to his name.
In comparison Chelsea have Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Pedro all firing with 33 goals between them, while Willian, Cesc Fabregas, Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses have all contributed with at least three goals too.
Tottenham have long been linked Real Madrid attacker Isco, who has contributed six goals and six assists in 26 appearances this campaign and he could be the answer to Tottenham pushing on further for the league title.
In other Tottenham news, Cliff Jones has shared what he believes is unfortunate about this current Spurs star.
